For the past few years, I’ve been blessed to take photos in some of San Diego’s most beautiful locations. One of my favorite locations that combine the history and the nature of San Diego is Los Peñasquitos.
Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve attracts people with its natural beauty and abundant natural resources — both today and in the past. Did you know that Native American history within the Preserve dates back as far as 7,000 years ago?
To this day remains of the prehistoric culture can still be found. The historic Santa Maria de Los Peñasquitos Adobe (ca. 1823) operated by the County of San Diego (located at the east end of the Preserve off Black Mountain Road on Canyonside Park Driveway), has been restored and tours are available for school groups and the public.
